Admissions Guidelines

Kindergarten

Students who are considered for this grade level are those who:

  • Must be 5 years of age by August 31st of the current year

Grades 1 - 4

Students who are considered for enrollment are those who:

  • Have a satisfactory citizenship record in the school they are presently attending
  • Have demonstrated readiness for the grade level for which they are applying

Grades 5 – 8

Students who are considered by the Admissions Committee for enrollment are those who:

  • Desire to attend Colville Valley Junior Academy and agree to comply with the school’s standards
  • Have a satisfactory citizenship record in the school they are presently attending
  • Are achieving an average of at least a “C” grade in the present school year in all subjects
  • Have demonstrated on previous report cards and standardized tests that they are adequately prepared to achieve at their grade level

 

Applications for all students are evaluated using the following criteria:

  • A general application
  • References from the student’s present academic teacher, counselor, principal, Pastor, and/or close friend
  • Copies of the latest report card (grades 1-8) and standardized test (grades 4-8)
  • A personal interview with a school official

 

The Admissions Committee will consider, on an individual basis, students who do not meet the above criteria.


Medical and field trip release forms will need to be filled out after your student has been accepted or on registration day for the new school year.
